Sir Lugooyo,
Marehan are just as reer Jubbaland as anybody. However its true we're not natives of the actual city Kismayo. That distinction goes to the Bajuni. The few Harti MSB (aun) brought from the drought in Bari and settled in Kismayo are not considered true reer Kismayo to me. Ogaden, Gaaljecel, Sheikhal, Harti (Jammame), Jareerweyne, Cawaramle etc. all inhabit isolated tuulos (Buurgabo, Beerxaano, Jilib, Jammame etc.). Also consider Marehan warriors were the first to cross the Jubba river, as there were 72,000 Marehan in Jubbaland by 1890
http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb5/ ... nd1897.jpgIt is written in The New Encyclopaedia Britannica Issue 1974:
"To the east the Somalis were once more on the move. After 1850 one of the Darod Somali groups, the Marehan crossed the Juba in force. In 1865 they went on to break the Tana Galla and by 1880 had turned on the Boran. Pagan peoples in this region were now being dominated by Muslims, and peasants by nomads from the north." [1]
Also without sounding facist, Marehan are the least oppressive, and most JUST Somali clan. Compare Harti control of Kismayo and the islands off it and Marehan control, particualarly the way Bajunis were treated.
----"3.7.3 Though Marehan settlers still have effective control of the islands, Bajuni can work for the Marehan as paid labourers. This is an improvement on the period during the 1990s when General Morgan's forces controlled Kismayo and the islands, when the Bajuni were treated by the occupying Somali clans as little more than slave labour. Essentially the plight of the Bajuni is based on the denial of economic access by Somali clans, rather than outright abuse. [6.85 ? 6.87] "----
http://www.sdwo.com/Immigrations.htmSir Luggoyo, citizens of Kismayo and Jubbland at large are treated with more dignity and respect then if it was in the hands of any other clan. The Jubbland council comprises: Marehan, Ogaden, Sheikhal, Gaaljecel, Cawaramle and Jareerweyne, and they are the ruling authority of Jubbland now as the 3rd Brigade (Gudada sedexaad) have stepped down and are mostly in Muuri militairy base (Bardhere) at the command of Mudand Barre. If these arguements are not enough to convince you about our right to Jubbaland, then keep in mind we also fought for it and captured it. Whether it was kicking out SPM, USC, Kablalax, etc. we captured it fair, the same way Hawiye captured Xamar. Keep in mind Morgan came to Kismayo as SNF (Marehan) and it was Marehan militias that were protecting him. The minute he messed with us, he became irrelevent in Somali politics, and gave us a pretext to kick him out and consolidate control.
Wallahi we will never leave Kismayo. Waa sidaan u degnay. The sooner everybody excepts it the better.
