Most Issaqs on this site, who's families might have went through terrible things even say some good things about Siyad Barre, lakin I have never in my life seen anybody other than a FEW Sacad say anything remotely good about him.The best they'll say is "Allahu naxaristo" which I say. I never, ever mention Caydid (aun) for many reasons. The simple fact that in the great sceme of things, and in the history books he really won't be remembered for much. When the name of MSB (aun) comes up people will talk about the Ogaden war, the litericy campaign, the shore restoration projects, the drought responses, the revolutionary leadership and unfortunately they'll remember some of the sad ugly stuff like the events in Woqooyi. 21 years is a LARGE body of work, and people will look over the whole body of work in time. The bottom line is MSB (aun) will go down in history with a majority positive sentiment unlike Mr. Caydid. Also when I compared Caydid and AY, there two feathers of a bird. They were both jealous of MSB, and both of them went through extreme lengths to get power. The disserves and treason AY committed right now in brining Tigray is the same treason Caydid committed when he starved thousands of people in Baidoa (city of death) and raped, killed and ethnically cleansed thousands upon thousands of minorities in Shabeelaha. In addition it is not even disputable he received support from Ethiopia as he was not e ven IN XAMAR when it was opened, but was in Shilabo. Col Shabeel is the one that led the charge into Xamar.
