Somaliland President and ministers donate to reer Sool

Postby Midhisho » Wed Oct 24, 2007 5:55 am

Hargeisa(Qaran)-In its weekly cabinet meeting, chaired by President Daahir Riyaale Kaahin, the Somaliland council of ministers discussed the current situation in the Sool region, and in particularly of Laas Canood,

A communique issued at the conclusion of the meeting, President Riyaale stated that it is imperative that the government and the people of Somaliland offer the utmost support the residents of Sool.

In order to meet the needs of the region, the cabinet unanimously agreed to increase by 2% all government levies. As well the increase in levies, the cabinet wholeheartedly agreed to donate their individual monthly salary to the residents of Sool.

It was also agreed by the cabinet that in order to safeguard and elevate the level of stability in the region, it is necessary to expand and increase the delegations from both the executive and legislative branches of the republic who are currently in Laas Canood for discussions with the elders and the residents of Sool.

The President of Somaliland earns yearly approximately 565 000 USD ( 2007 )
Wich is montly 47 083 dollars
The Vice President makes 183 000 USD
15 250 USD

Total so far without the ministers

62 233 USD

but with the ministers of finance , foreign secretary , agriculture , defence
and so on I am sure it would pass 200 000 dollars easily .
And thats just the symbolic gift to reer Sool .
Now I am looking forward for developement programme in Sool to be installed once again , before the majerteens invaded Sool 4-5 years ago the state had plans to build Sool a regional hospital .

Congratulations !

Mashallah
