I could care less, let everyman defend his territory. Laas Caanood was captured first and foremost by Bah Ararsame the rightful rulers of Laascaanod, they had help from the Somaliland military. If Puntland attacks the only people who will suffer are the HY and HJ, it is not my war nor my kinsmens war let Riyaale and his government defend themselves because we have nothing to gain from the situation in Laascaanood. While the rest of Somaliland chews qaad in Hargeisa, Togdheer, Sool iyo Sanaag will be the battle fronts if war is to occur. The people who will pay will be HY,HJ, Dhulbahante and Warsangeli. It would be nice if all these clans kicked out the manipulative governments they are a part of and went with their best interests.

A dusty town is a dusty town. What difference does it make if your flag is in the dusty town of Hargeisa or the dusty town of Laascanood? It just means more dust on the Somaliland flag. It doesn't mean a new level of respect for the flag, it doesn't mean the flag gets to inherit oil, it doesn't mean that the flag becomes emblazoned in diamonds.

That makes a lot of sense..........PLand could be marginalized since they are broke and if those regions claimed they wanted an inter-tribal locally adminstered regional autonomy then it would be quite ironic for SLand to lay territorial claims on it considering they want independence themselves.

If you want to get technical your not a Hargeisaawi hadaad Ciise Muuse asal ah tahay. Besides their is no need for violence in this time and age especially in Somalia/Somaliland or whatever you want to call it.

Realistically Laascaanood will never joined Somaliland , you can never control a man in his own home, which is why Isaaqs fought of the former Somali government, also all Isaaqs do not believe in Somaliland, believe me they exist. The only reality is to share power with your brothers in Somalia, federalism is the only way Somalia can ever be unified.

You're right! Federalism is the only way to go b/c it is the only mechanism that can try to neutralize, or at least localize clan conflict. Socialism, Communism, Central Govt. might have seemed like a good idea, but it didn't work in part b/c Somalis always put a clan face on everything, for better or for worse.

Socialism and Strong central govt. failed in Somalia not necessarily b/c they were meant to control a person in his own house at the govt. level, but the fact is there was always 1,001 small clan rivalries at any given time and it is too easy for 1 group to use the 'Govt. name' to achieve their own ends.
