AW;
The fact is many of us here in the Diaspora drinking coffee latte at local Starbucks or double-doubles at the corner Coffee Times, we just have no clue what is happening over there. The people back home are the ones suffering from both human-made and natural disasters. Few years ago a cousin of mine went back home and visited many cities including Kismaayo where his parents lived at the time. It was during the Huuraale years and I asked him pointy-blankly how the hell few Ilka-Yars from Caabud-Waaq managed to “control the city”. His answer amazed me Walaahay. He said everyone over there lives by the day including the so-called Ilka-Yar militias in Kismaayo. No one has the qab and the kibir we have over here as people are trying their best to stay alive. Everybody’s clan affiliations are tied to his or her breed for that day. Having pointed that out, the civil war is not going to end until everybody realizes that they can’t take lands that don’t belong to them. The civil war started because few were taking what wasn't theirs.
