Eri,

don't listen to our high on qaad qaldaan emperior.

Yes, there is a clan Darood, who are decended from Sh Ismaacil banu Jabarti (Raximahullah). This clan is the largest in Somalia, and straddles three countries (Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia), and has always been a dominant Somali clan. I don't know if Eritrean Jabarti are related but if so, than I guess that makes us dominant in 4 countries. Cool

they are related because all of them including eritrean and tigrayan jeberti lived in one place called city of jabarta untill the ethiopian emperor invaded that city.even with a ratio of 6 to 1 man power they said that the jeberti's fought like warriors but numbers were too much to handle.most moved up north to join the other jeberti's while some went south to somalia.i know that the eritrean jeberti's r the oldest going back with that name around the prophet pbuh time some families here can trace their lineage to ancestors who converted when the sahaba made the migration to king armac (negashi).jeberti's are not in 4 countries its found also in yemen, egypt, saudi, sudan.one of the most famous jeberti is GENERAL BERHANU 100 yrs ago he was the one who cut emperor yohanes head of while fighting with the mahdist against emperor yohanes.

Jeberta Ismail came to somalia as we (Banadirs) did. We are all came from Yeman. The Banadiris couldnt be adopted by any somali tribe, but Jeberta was adopted by DAROD. They are not Dorod, but Darods were very kind to them. Jeberta was binu hadaad (It is what you somalias call MIDGAN).
If you go to Yamen and ask about the Jeberta, they will tell the same.
