Wara Phd, SSDF was not a Majerten movement. SSDF was a Mengistu movement and most Majerten were not even involved. Thats why Bicidyahan and other Majerten subclans in the SNA subdued SSDF

USC was irrelevant as a movement. What impacted the Barre regime was the mass defection and break-up of the army into clan lines. The USC was then a symbolic umbrella for the Hawiye group but what achievement does the group as a movement have? Less than a year later it was Habar Gidir vs. Abgaal and 2 years later even Caydiid's group divided into the SNA (Somali National Alliance) he lead and the other group led by Caato.

It never functioned, had a congress, or has a single achievement to its name but you can sure find ina Caydiid's live interview inwhich he talks about his amazement that one Somali movement, the SNF, was able to defeat the Ethiopia that today occupies Mogadishu.

Ilkoyars enough with the defeating the USC. When the USC was together you know they chased you all the way to Kenyan borders and held Gedo for two months to take the piss. Its only when the inner USC conflict began that you guys took advantage of it. If you were t hat powerfull, you wouldn't run away from your great leader and like the way you did. Afweyne didn't even trust your ragganimo and run to Nigeria(poor afweyne, he though the USC migh show up in Kenya).

As for the SSDF, they weren't like the USC(The entire Hawiye and everybody who wasn't happy about the government) or like the SNM(The whole Isaaq). It was only hard core Cumar Maxamuds and Reer Biciidyahan. We gave Siyad barre a lot to worry about to the point that he even collaborated with Mingistu to finally crush us. Its the Somali government vs Cumar Maxamud and Reer bidiidyahan. After we started that , other Jabhado(USC and SNM) took notice and they to started rebeling. No wonder Siyad barre used whatever in his power to subdue us. We were that powerfull
