Somalia: Roadside bomb targeted at an Ethiopian convoy


Mogadishu 03, Nov.07 ( Sh.M.Network)- An explosion targeted at an Ethiopian convoy coming towards Mogadishu occurred in the early hours of this morning at a place near Balidogle location in Lower Shabelle region in Somalia.

The Ethiopian troops were from Baidoa town the temporary base of the transitional federal government and were coming to Mogadishu city to reinforce the Ethiopian troops in Mogadishu. As the dwellers in the area are reporting the explosion was a road side mine.

Yet the genuine damage of the troop is not manifest, but as the residences are reporting the troops stopped their trip for a while and again proceeded towards Mogadishu.

So far no group came forward to claim for the explosion, but it is believed to be part of the recent attacks aimed at the Somali government soldiers and their ally the Ethiopian troops.

The Ethiopian convoy was fifty carrying soldiers and some mounted with artilleries and cannons. Their departure came after yesterday’s terrible combat between their soldiers in Mogadishu and the opposing group. In yesterday’s fight five of the Ethiopian soldiers are said to have been killed.

Believe me, I used to live there. I know. There's always room to get worse.

You now have two genrations who have grown up with almost no education, who see Mooryan behavior and think it's normal. What was left of the economy is now in a shambles...............

And when the Ethiopians are gone, you will figh each other for another decade, just in case anything was left unscathed this round.

listen here..no one wishes to fight and suffer...we are forced to do it..Its a major sin to live under occupation without doing nothing....as for Mogadishu,material can easily be bought,but honour and freedom you must sacrifise your life for.........

There are ways to resist occupation without resorting to armed violence. I don't suppose that occurred to you.

No matter how this fight now ends, Somalia has taken itself off the map for generations. Somalis, their fate, their suffering, don't matter to anyone anymore. And people like you, cheerleading the violence, have encouraged this. It's as if you are more concerned about you "honor" than your children.
