Luq, as our own Mujahid Babygirl123 stated, when the state of Puntland was created in 1998 there was a heated debate about the location of its capital, reer-Bari brought their reasons to why Bosaso should be the capital, reer-Sool brought their reasons to why Laaska should be the capital and so on and so forth. Am sure they all had their reasons to why their “gobol” should house the capital for economic reason, but one aspect that kept on turning up was each city’s location. For instance, reer Mudug argued that Bosaso was too far for their liking and vies versa. So, to fix this predicament that the delegates from all the five regions and the district of Buuhoodle found themselves in at the time Garowe was mentioned. Honestly, the “Cise Riyoole” are too greedy for the liking of any Puntlander, but there was no denying that their city is smacked right in the middle of Puntland and for this reason Puntlanders said what the heck Garowe it is! And so it was! And mansha Allah what a city it turn out to be!
