Somali is not unifying or else there would be peace in the south,same goes for islamd and sunni........The only thing thats unifying people in somalia is tribes so if we use tribe as the bases for somaliland independence it has alot in common with kosovo.

My friend there is clannish mentality in Mongolia and Saudi Arabia.... but they have common religion (Buddhism and Islam respectively) and languages and culture....
"CLANS" are not a basis for seperation...... 18 years and no buddy is talking about Somaliland independence.... why? Because if ethnic groups with similar languages and cultures split..... then what about the rest of africa.... With it's thousands of languages.etc
