MJ pride has claimed this on behave of darood, i doubt this is true but i would like to know your opinion on this matter... Is most Darood glad to see the people of Xamar suffer or is this guy MJ-pride just filled with Cuqdud?

"Once again we have SADE sympathizers. At the begging of the occupation, they were all happy to see Hawiye suffer but when things turned sour, they are crying foul. Either be with Muqaawama and help them out financially, militarily or by any means necessary or distance yourselves. Are you doing this to save face? Also Most Marehans actually are glad to see and I am sure most daroods are except Ogaden are happy to see this. There is no need to hide People.

I am sure if the rules were reserved, Hawiye would be overjoyed. Just go a decade ago and how Hawiye partied inside a river of darood blood and dared any darood to come back to Moqdisho. I was watching an old brutal recording of young darood kid running away from a bunch of 12 Hawiyes. The kid hid behind an old women and begged her for protection, but the old Hawiye lady screamed 'Daroodka wasa' and handed the poor kid to the Hawiyes. The Moryaans shot the poor kid 18 times and put his body in the dumpster. Once I watched that, I won't have no sympathy whatsoever to Hawiyes. I say this is cleansing process and we will get rid the Moryaans and Insha'allah the good ones will remain. Just watch how events unfold"

Ofcourse the overwhealming amount of Daroods arn't happy to see whats happening in Xamar, but I'm sure theres some that are which is to be expected. How many Daroods including my entire family stand out in the freezing cold to protest in front ot the State Dept? How many Daroods in my area raise money for Xamar? I think any logical Somali would know that for the long term future of Somalia the presense of Ethiopia is only trouble. The Darood Hawiye problem is a Somali problem for Somalis to solve period. Now this being said, do the majority of Daroods care enough to put their lives, cities, degaano etc. on the line to defend the people in Xamar? The answer is no.

I totally agree with you 100%..

Dont you think people from this tribe should distance themselves from such claims though?

this guy is going around claiming most daroods are happy which isnt true, no sane person would believe that...
This kind of guys spread hate between qabils and it wont stop until his own people put him in check and tell him not to use their name in vein...

Alchemist,

First of all, sometimes when people mention 'Darood' it just sounds foreign and silly to me. Daroodnimo is really used like in weddings, traditional settings, shirs and cultural enviroments like that. However when asking what 'Daroods political line is' on a particular issue, like whats going on in Xamar you must differentiate. Darood is too massive to just make a pronouncement. When addressing Darood you must adress Ogadeenis a certain way, Harti a certain way, Marexaan a certain way and Lelkasse a certain way.

Ridiculous question, no one's humanity makes him support this. Even Mj Pride, he is only saying this because he is sheltered from the true horrors that is occurring so if he saw for himself full well what is going on his thinking would be different.

However, there are many people, especially Daroods, who were taken advantage of Xamar in the early 90's since the land as well as the city was Hawiye land. All other peoples were minorities there and some of the stories I have heard about what the newly recruited country bumbkin and ciyaal koolo kids of Caydiid did makes my mouth even drop now.

I never knew how humanity could go so low but I think my biased look towards Hawiye as an inferior barbaric group who need to be civilized lessened greatly ever since I read NURRUDIN FARAH'S book Voices From the Somali Diaspora, a personal collection/research book he wrote about the Somali Civil War in the early 90's. One of the interviewees who really got to me (and I have to credit him as the guy who made me see hawiye as people again and look at the civil war as just an unfortunate occurence) was a guy Nurridin visited in Switzerland where he said he suffers from many mental illnesses and recounted all the horrors coming back to him. Nurridin asked him why he did it and the guy is talking about how it was the policy of Caydiid that every one of his boys was sedated with Khat and Xashiish together to block their sympathetic systems and make it impossible for human nature to interfere in the jobs he wanted them to do. He describes in perfect detail the euphoric invincible feeling he used to get when he took what was given and recounts how he saw milita members shoot each other without care just for bumbing against each other. The man leading them would clap their hands together in happiness cuz it was proof the concoction was taken successfully and it was time to go on. Ka waran those guys still live among us.

So really I don't hold any cuqdad for Hawiye but I despised that crazy lunatic who died in a mud of his own xaar and filth more. Cool

I think this gamble has not paid of for majerteen. They have thrown everything they have to get this president in xammer, and it seems it has not been enough.
The european and american public will soon get on their governments back. The question will be asked how can you lecture sudan on human rights on darfur when you are engineering the biggest crisis ever seen in african by suppoteing the ethoipian occupation of somalia. The western governments will then have to prioratise their interest....The Oil of Dafur or the support for the warlords in somalia. And if that doesnt work the pictures of human suffering will be to much for any government to not take action. The ethoipians will either stay in somalia with no western help, basically get killed like sittin docks, or leave. They will leave with Abdillahi Yusuf and majerteen will be attacked from the south with no exit north.
Then all those majerteen fools who educated the hawyies about kama can tell us about it from first hand experience.

This cycle of events has already begun.......The are calling A.Yusuf a warlord

The UN estimates that 173,000 people have fled Mogadishu, the war-torn capital of Somalia, in the last three weeks alone. Add that to the 330,000 people who have already fled the capital this year and it amounts to a humanitarian disaster that rivals or exceeds Darfur. Somalia's transitional president, Abdullahi Yusuf, a British- and US-backed warlord, wants the city to empty. He said in Nairobi that Mogadishu's civilians can either choose to fight the Islamist insurgents or consider themselves targets in his war on terror. Eleven months after inviting the Ethiopian army into Somalia, the Transitional Federal Government (which is neither transitional nor federal, nor a government) is wreaking savage revenge on a population whether or not it shelters insurgents.

The sad truth is that, as long as the international community averts its gaze from the plight of hundreds of thousands of refugees living under trees within 30 kilometres of the Somali capital, the war can last indefinitely. Up to two divisions of Ethiopian troops are camped around the city, and a further 10,000 TFG militiamen hold key points and junctions. But when the Ethiopian convoys move through the city they are often ambushed. They reply with indiscriminate shelling, house-to-house raids and hostage-taking.

Human Rights Watch reported on the consequences of an ambush near the livestock market in Huriwa in the north of the city on November 8, when the body of an Ethiopian soldier was dragged through the streets. The Ethiopians replied with an offensive which left bodies scattered over a wide area -16 in Huriwa, two in another neighbourhood, seven in another. Did they die in the crossfire or were they the victims of summary executions? We may never know, because the TFG accompanies its military onslaught with a similar one against the media and aid agencies. Four radio stations, the only source of news in Somalia, have been closed down and journalists are regularly killed by both sides.

Lack of information helps, of course. It allows Britain, which backs Yusuf, and shelters members of his "government", to claim a convenient degree of ignorance. But the insurgency, meanwhile, is gathering pace, fuelled by popular anger. It is a combination of hardline Islamists in the Shabaab youth movement, and the Resistance, who regard their primary enemy as Ethiopia. At some point they will split, but for now graphic pictures of Somali suffering fill jihadi websites in the same way that Palestine and Chechnya once did. It is becoming a fighting cause. Britain should reassess its support for a warlord who has brought mayhem and havoc back to the streets of Mogadishu.

Alchemist,
Forget about Darood, I have seen a lot of Hawiyes thats happy to see whats happening and they are no different than the ones in Hamar. Medina, Karaan and huge junk of Moqdisho are glad to see this. Most of the time I see elders that are happy to see this because elders are the ones who suffered the most

The worst thing one can do is have cuqdad for their entire lifetime. My own relative when Marexaan were leaving Xamar weeks before the USC entered, they were pressuring him to leave. He looked at them like they were crazy, and said 'My wifes HG, I'm good man'. Then when the USC came in, his own brother in law, the brother of his wife, and uncle of his kids, came into his shop and gunned him down. These USC 'Soldiers' were sleep deprived and fed crack. That being said, having cuqdad for a group is unhealthy, and inshallah the people of Xamar's situation improve.

Luq.. your right walahi, having cuqdud only harms you in the end..

I also agree with you, there is no such thing as Darood and Hawiye anymore, everyone has its own interest..

Voltage glad to see you view on hawiye changed ever since you read that book Laughing

For me to know that there is no difference between the two darood and Hawiye i just have to look at our people.. look at our fathers, mothers, dress code, language, religion, culture... We are the same people but just in different situations... Both groups have good and bad... Sometimes you meet someone from the rival tribe who is nice to you and your own cousins cause you the worse harm...

Alchemist I think the more we get educated and the more learned we get, the more we can look at stuff like the civil war and clan fights etc from an intellectual scientistic point of view and derive lessons from them that prevent us from ever experiencing it again
