Sheekh Madar was a native of Bulaxaar he lived in Berbera till 1899, the Mad Mullah Vs Sheekh Madar debate in Berbera took place in 1899. By then Hargaysa was ciidagale/Arab/Isxaaq village. As early as 1884 the first British bunglo was built by the rich hunter Lord Delmare the founder of colonial Kenya. That particular buidling made its way to Caashuur the Ciidagale warrior who saved lord Delmare from a lion and as a token for his deeds it wasgiven to him when Delmare left for Kenya. The building was later given to Xuseen Xasan Rooble the poet,
When sheekh Madar came to Hargaysa as small time preacher he married Dahaba Xasan Rooble and thus the building was given to him.
This isn't ancient history its only 4 generations ago.
Who was he ? He was a sacad muuse noble man . I would like to thank { according to the account given to us by the ever stupid Rasputin} the Garxajis for essentially giving us one of their daughters and control of the town since then . Not bad for a small time preacher eh?
isaga maagaalo ka dhigay waxa dagaanaa meesha arab iyo ciidangalle xplaya isxaaq came mutch later markay habaryunista kalle markay soo eryeen markaan founder ku leeyahay markii horre tuuulle bay ahayd isaga magaalo ka dhigay
i gote a big picture of the reer xoosh sheik sheik iebrahien
Ma sheekadii islaamaa sacad musaad noola timi? 1 man creating an entire city? how?
Sheekh Madar was the first Sacad Muuse ever to settle in Hargaysa as a Sacad Muuse, however he wasn't the founder by any means.
By 1884 Hargaysa was a summer oasis for the Ciidagale/Arab and Isxaaq all these clans perceded the Sacad Muuse who till 1910 were mainly the called the people of Guban or the burnt land of the coast.
Sultan Diiriye Sultan Xasan was the sultan of Herer and when in 1899 the mad mullah left Berbera (sacad muuse town) in a hurry the sultan of Herer as he was known then welcomed him despite rejecting his call for jihaad and his new Saalxiya creed.
As far as the little permenant relgious settlement in Hargaysa the so called Jameecada it was run by various Mullahs including Sheekh Haaruun (Ciidagale) and the great great grandfather of the Cabdiqaadir Jirdde (Arab) also among these Mullahs were Gurgure and some Geri Koombe (Aba Yoonis) sheikhs.
When the British came to Somaliland Herer (Small Harar) was part of the Habar Garxajis domain (Garxajis/Arab) the Sacad Muuse lived in gabilay, Bulaxaar and Berbera.
Up till 1980's Hargaysa was mere 4 large neighbourhoods :
1- Gacan Libaax south east ( Isxaaq and other H.Y)
2- Guryo Sama south west ( Ciidagale)
3- Siinaay north east ( Arab)
4- 26 June north west ( sacad Muuse+ Ayuub +Toljecl).
Now Ina Baxaaar a Jibriil abokor huush who came as a pan handler to Hargaysa and Empror a reer Samatar who brought the milk and coal to the city can't tell me by any means the history of a Hargaysa which i know very well.
