Algebra, I know, my area is quite expensive, but other areas of Toronto are a whole lot cheaper. I've seen 3 Beds & 1.5 Baths go for about $1200-$1400/month..So it really depends on what area you want to live in.

That's pretty good accomodation for the price you suggested. Your fam have the ability to save money over a 2-3 year period then get a house.

In Bloomington, Minnesota, I pay $670 including everything for one large bed room. thats very cheap compared to other places. In Minnepolis in ghetto areas its about 550 or 600. I know some places in Minnesota that charges 1300 for one bed room

Algebra. If you are paying more than 1000 a month for rent you can afford a house. Save your self some money and buy a place.

For 2 years I was working front desk at a apartment building. The area was Crystal City in Arlington VA, right outside of DC. This was one of the more upscale places in the area and for a two bedroom it cost you 2,600-3000 a month depending on the season. The apartments were nice though and they were the kind of apartments you'd see on MTV Cribs, loool. Either way though in VA for a 1 bedroom you're looking at anywhere from 1000-1400 depending on the location, qualtiy of the apartment and so forth.

Good sound advice. I agree. I would never pay $1000. or more for a piece of real estate I didn't own. That would be throwing money away.
