For hygeine reasons women must trim/shave every month when they finish menstruating.. I think for men its every 40 days.

Yes it is sunnah i read it in riyaad Ussalihiin, theirs ten steps of cleanliness a muslim man and woman must take i cant remember, but i remember that i tell u now, because it seemed new to me when i read it.

yeah it does look pretty weird to be absolutely clean shaven down there...normally you leave a little bit down there otherwise it gets real prickly down there when it grows back.
