not the best or worst area, but bloody expensive. Walahi if the somali parents bought houses in th early 90's then they would be raking it in now. Growth has slowed, but is still high. They only option is buying ex public housing, but the demand is like a 10 year waiting list in London.

Nobleman:

So I guess renting is the way to go or shacking up with relations for a while.

I dunno how you can make it on 35K in London. Its very expensive to live there not to mention they tax everything.

Man London is almost unbearable, probably why a lot of somalis resort to some kind of benefit fraud. But i'm sure it will die down soon. As for renting it is just as expensive. I would stay with relatives and give em a little bit of money every month.

35k is still a decent income, for example teachers start on 24k and same with most public workers.

Nobleman:

Yep, staying with relatives is the way to go as long as they don't cramp your style & social life.

Right now I am own my own home and pay a mortgage of $800/month plus get another $2,600 in rental income.

I guess London life is tough.

Good nite.
