Hard-Rock,
Everybody's circumstances are different, and I'm not fully married yet but marriage stabilizes you and it allows you to focus on important things like children, future, career, education etc.
I believe marriage is a stage of maturity of your manhood.
If you're a young healthy man and you're not married, you have nothing to plan around and plan for. And on top of that, you're always hungry for women and those sins add up and they take away from your mental concentration.
It depends on what your ambitions are in life. There are men who only live for pus$sy and it's like an addiction and for those people I can see why marriage would seem like a trap. Marriage can help you control your sex drive to put all your energy on your goals. A single man only addicted to chasing women around is like a man who only lives for food, always excited about going to different restaurants and eating new foods, dishes, pastries, deserts etc. Food is good and you should enjoy it, but it should only energize you towards something else.
But for men who have higher ambitions such as education, career, family, religion, improving yourself then having a quality wife who can help you accomplish your goals seems like a better tradeoff.
After all, sooner or later a man's body will give out and then the single man won't be able to party and live that single life and his counterparts who got married are sending their children off to college and the single man is going back to his apartment lonely.
