Hard_Rock, I've never seen a Somali guy whose scared before. That says a lot about you (in a good way), there is nothing worse than a guy going into marriage with doubts, have your worries. Eventually you will get married, I think what's scaring you are those creepy children everyone will expect you to have, and really you don't have to have children right away or at all. I'm married and it's like dating but permanent. Marriage is like a blessing, all of a sudden it's like a light radiates within me.

Aah, he's doing the whole Sh Cabdiqadir thing. Go to Kenya to your Wife and Kids and be back in 3 months. Great. Wallahi I'd like to live in Atlanta but I don't think theres any work there. Great community, cheap cost of living but no jobs. I heard the Cadaan from Lousiana and other Katrina hit areas took all the jobs. What kind of Duruus was Sh Cabdinuur giving besides Quran memorization maybe?
Yh, his wifey & the kids are in NFD. Who told you Atlanta doesn't have jobs? Most of Atlanta's residents are people who moved down here from the North East. There are plenty of companies here, finding a job is a breeze compared to other states in the South, because Atlanta is the hub of the South. Sh. A/Nur was practically running Masjid Assunah, he was Sh. Nuh's right hand man.

Hard-Rock,

Everybody's circumstances are different, and I'm not fully married yet but marriage stabilizes you and it allows you to focus on important things like children, future, career, education etc.

I believe marriage is a stage of maturity of your manhood.

If you're a young healthy man and you're not married, you have nothing to plan around and plan for. And on top of that, you're always hungry for women and those sins add up and they take away from your mental concentration.

It depends on what your ambitions are in life. There are men who only live for pus$sy and it's like an addiction and for those people I can see why marriage would seem like a trap. Marriage can help you control your sex drive to put all your energy on your goals. A single man only addicted to chasing women around is like a man who only lives for food, always excited about going to different restaurants and eating new foods, dishes, pastries, deserts etc. Food is good and you should enjoy it, but it should only energize you towards something else.

But for men who have higher ambitions such as education, career, family, religion, improving yourself then having a quality wife who can help you accomplish your goals seems like a better tradeoff.

After all, sooner or later a man's body will give out and then the single man won't be able to party and live that single life and his counterparts who got married are sending their children off to college and the single man is going back to his apartment lonely.

Sometimes you don't have a choice:

"Honey, I am late."

"Oh, do you need a ride somewhere ?'

"No, I am late, late."

"For what ?"

"My period is late. I think I may be pregnant."

"Oh, are you sure ?"

After frantic trips to the pharmacy for pregnancy kits tests and lots of prayers, you may be lucky and miss the bullet.

Otherwise, its a quick dash to get married.

It is almost time for me sleep as I have to get early but Saaxiib, a dear grandfather of mine once told me that"Nin wuxuu kutalo xumaado waxaa ugu fiican guur". In other words, if you were to do something by mistake, getting married would be the best. There is nothing like having Xalaal luv every single time you need it. Plus, you earn heavenly credits anytime you do it. I am tired of this dogy life homie. I am gonna get committed soon Insha-Alaah.....
