Here is the scenario:

You met someone who was somebody back in the days, who caused a lot of grief to your family. He arrested your father under false pretense, participated in his torture, was even promoted because of that as your dad was languishing in jail for a period of 11 years, none of your family members was allowed to visit while serving his time, you basically grew up with faded mental picture of your dad, and that was the time you really needed him the most, the time when you needed a role model and a father figure to brag about.

Now, you met that person, aged, frail, helpless. You spent countless nights contemplating on ways and means to punish that culprit, you even mastered -albeit mentally - brutal techniques of inflicting pain on this monster. Would you fulfill you fantasy or would you have a second thought?

Things happen in life.I will forgive him and just move on. You cant be stuck with what happened in the past. Worse could have happened without this guy in the picture.

Learn to forgive and to forget and you will have a happy fullfiling life!

PS: Remember Mandela!

Luugoyo:

Your friend should have got his revenge this month, 17 years ago when the Barre government was overthrown.

The best he can do is confront him & hopefully shock the guy into depression or heart attack.

ever hear of the HEREAFTER? JUDGMENT DAY?

Justice may not come in this world, but it will in the next

read your Qur'an, repel evil with good

what good is revenge going to do 17 years later, exactly? You are following shaydaan and aren't doing it for the sake of Allah

the hereafter is where the punishment lies, and with that Allah SWT knows what people did/do. All good is from Allah, and all evil comes from our ownselves, Allah says in the Qur'an too

now if you want to talk about the atheist belief of the problem of evil, you'll be refuted handily

aged, frail and helpless - see just for that I would move on and let him be. Nothing would bring back the time this person missed with their father, so really what's the point?

Xplay,

We can not blame everything that we do to one another on Allah. Say Istaqfurullah.
