Yeah a lot of his statements are profound. That Pope one was funny b/c someone told him the Pope advised him to do something? He knew that for all this talk of civilization we still live in a "Might is Right" world.
The 1 million deaths only being a statistic, we see that daily. One famous person dies we all wear black tomorrow, hundreds of people dying in Somalia or Iraq it might make a news bulletin on BBC.
He was also ruthless. One time his prison officers gave him a list of thousands of people that were sentenced to death for review. He wrote on the paper: "6,000 more! I don't care who."
