Anyone who has ever paid close attention to Sh. Qardawi's ideologies can see for themselves that by far he's the most progressive & Westernized scholar out there.

My advice to people like you is to read the Sheikh's biography and books, instead of swallowing every filth thrown at you and speaking on behalf of those who work for the destruction of this Ummah.

That article was pure hogwash. Sh. Qardawi is the last scholar to legalize suicide bombings, because of his liberal views. Unlike other scholars, he's very liberal and modern; many have accused him of commiting blasphemy because he said many liberating things about women including a woman does not need a mahram to leave her home.

I read the article and he responded to it by saying his words were taken out of context and twisted around to make it seem like he legalized suicide bombings. Now, who are you going to believe: the BBC (owned by the British government) or a Muslim scholar who spent over 40 years teaching the religion?

No scholar is the scholar of the ummah... No one has more precedence then another... An arab fellow in Cairo doesn't have some special adminstrative powers.... like the pope... We respect them and we love them... But nobody can be a figurehead for muslims without them being a caliph.... There hasn't been none since the ottomans and so every body has there own opinions and two sides that seem polar opposite are justified through proper ijtihad.

Thats why some sheiks say suicide bombings = Xaraam and some don't

Sh Albaani, Sh Cuthaymin, Sh Muqbil, Sh Ibn Baaz raximahullahu cajamain have all passed but they were all the scholars of the Ummah. Their students, the ones who have tooken from them and followed in their path are the scholars of today. Whoever speaks out against them without daliil should not be followed. Ones who slander those great men should not even be listened to, wal yacaadu bilah.
