They've tried to take over our Masjid in Atlanta. The imaam and the secretary of the Masjid were both part of their sect, the council fortunately weren't. Everyday, the imaam would host lectures insulting scholars like Umal, Sh. Cumar Faarooq, Abdulrasheed Ali Sufi, etc. and tell people "Muslims rulers can not be rebeled against, etc." The imaam & secretary recruited many youngesters in to the sect without the knowledge of the commitee or congregation members, they converted the library in to their little shop; distributing audios by their "Sheikhs" insulting men like Sh. Umal.
Their main "Sheikh" called Yahya Hajoori said: "Sh. Umal is an ignorant man, nobody should follow his teachings!" They mostly run after their own "Sheikhs" and disregard Somali Sheikhs with the exception of a handful who belong to their sect. The Masjid committee finally reached a decision and told the imaam & secretary to stop recruiting for their little club. Imaam announced on a Friday Khutbah on the first day of Ramadan 2006 that the commitee have prevented him from spreading the deen and he was leaving the Masjid. He left to open his own Masjid. The secretary refused to give up his position, then was fired, but still refused to give up his position. The commitee then sought legal action to remove him from the Masjid.
The imaam was HG, secretary was Isaaq, most of the commitee members were Daarood. They then turned the issue in to Daarood Vs. Irir and said all sorts of despicable rumors.
The Salafi Jadiid tried to take over Masjids in: Atlanta, Nashville, Columbus, Mpls & Portland. Each time, they were unsuccessful and have been exposed and removed from the congregations.
