Taciz? You must have had family in Yemen. Most Somalis live in the xirro qaxooti outside San'aa. I think MJ's heavy intermarriage with everybody paid off because I had a couple of Cumar Maxmud friends who's mom were Omani move to Oman, and one who's mom was Yemeni move to Taciz also and so on. Laakin everybody thats been there tells me the same thing. Yemenis= Fuqaraa al Carab. The Carabs from the Gulf countries look down on them. but is it true they have similar culture to Somalis and pretty humble miskin people?

It was in 1994 and I was only 10 and don't remember a lot, but Yeah Yemen is dirt poor and people have unique culture. Back then people used to make fun of the country but after the United states gave them 4 billion to clean up the country and they enrolled in Gulf countries, they are catching up with rest of Arab countries. There were a lot of Somalis in Taiz, including my uncle, who's married to a Yemeni lady. Sana'a, Aden is where most Somalis settle, but Al-jaxiim is were refugees at. There is a city called 'Xadaral al-mawt and its only 12 hrs away from Bossaso. People tailgate in the beech and cook the best fish you could ever taste,and with the trademark Yemeni 'Khubz' , you got yourself a nice meal.
