assalamu 'aleykum,

Inshallah, the alligience (al walaa) should be to Allah(sub'hanahu wa t'alaa), his messenger (salalahu 'aleyhi wasalaam) and the believers. And the enmity(al baraa) is for all those who opose them.

And as shiekh al-islam put it,

The declaration of faith, there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah, requires you to love only for the sake of Allah, to hate only for the sake of Allah, to ally yourself only for the sake of Allah, to declare enmity only for the sake of Allah, it requires you to love what Allah loves and to hate what Allah hates.

Ibn Taymiyyah, al-Ihtijaaj bil-Qadar, p.62.

How can you consider yourself to be "Canadian" as Posh put it, or as any other nationality.
I've been here in the West all my life and still do not feel at home.
You can never fully intergrate into a western society and feel accepted by the majority.

I used to work in a all-white environment and have never felt soo uncomfortable in my life. Even when they pretend to be nice you can still see the look in their eyes.
You do get the occasional one that's not really bothered about your identity or origins but the majority will always feel like you have no right to be in their home.

this is sad.
how did you stay all that time if this is how you feel?
i felt strange when i was in ogaden
specially when they forced me to come down from the car
because i didn't have ethiopian papers.
i didn't know neither somali nor amhari
i spent in jigjiga police station few hours.lol
i would never look back
it's all depends on one's personal experience i guess.
