The bottom line is that Kibaki did not win, even to the extent that Bush won over Gore. There is no rational or acceptable solution to this short of seating Odinga. The Kenyan courts need to get in here, and they need to do a better job than the US Supreme court did. It's going to be a sad day for all constitutional governments if Kibaki gets away with this.

You cant trust a court of judges that all belong to kibaki's tribe to be fair and the fact that they were appointed by kibaki himself. there is nothing like courts or democracy in kenya.

Chad is also under alot of chaos tonight. I give up hope with African dictators. Everytime there is a step forward in any country there as to be a leader that will take it 10 steps back.

I have couple Kikuyo friends, it's funny but they really believe Kabaki won fairly, and that Odinga was the only one rigging the election. I never realized that the clan affliction was really the same everywhere. I always assumed Kenyans were better than Somalis in that regard... but apperantly not.

Offcourse that is what they believe which is not true! they are animals and are about to destroy what they built over along time. It will soon burn like other african countries. sometimes i think colonizations should not have ended in Africa. they cant manage nothing!

Laila, bullshit!! If these friggin Europeans will leave Africa alone for once maybe we will get out of the dark hole. Just because they left physically does not mean they really left. The way I see it nowadays, let the civil wars happen everywhere, I see it as a cleansing process, only then perhaps will Africans wake up from the deep slumber of clannism, corruption, briberies, and European exploitation.

What Europens are curretly in kenya when one party wins and the other riggs itself in and refuse to talk . Offcourse if he is a true leader and put the interest of the fello citizens first then I am sure he will step down and let someone else lead. he is very unpopular and to just force himself and ignore the will of the majority wont solve the problem. So far 900 are dead how many more are suppose to die for them to act.

Trust me Africans cant lead and they will never lead that beautifull continet to reach its potential. How can a continet full of minerals and natural resouces fail to feed its own people. even israel that is a deseart is doing much better. maybe its about time that we took responsibilities towards what clearly is our failures rather than blaming the west ALL THE TIME!

Laila, Now you're thinking exactly like how the west would like you to think, (Africans can't lead, my foot!!). True we as Africans are to blame as well, but Europe is indeed a major contributor to our misery.

For example, the current situation in Kenya, Mr Kebaki has the EU support, rumor has it that they did not want Raila Odinga to win, then he would have became a hurdle in the way of their interests in Kenya, which from my understanding are vast. If EU was not involved I believe Kibabi would have thought twice before rigging any election, given his prior history with Odinga. If EU was not involved today, Kenya would have been in a full raging civil war by now.
