Murax

Things are much clear now..Before the invasion ,the warlords posssesed alot of power, simply by filling the power vakuum in the country..That was very disturbing and worry ,since those ruthless criminals had so much influence and power in a anarchy society.it was not safe..But the lifeline of those warlords were external power that used then as a trojan horse to further drive somalia deeper into crisis,at sametime that exeternal had long vision..they were watching somalia to die slowly and then take over without resistane at all.

they were more than happy to have stae quo in somalia

So something must have been done to disturb their evil plan.and the power to do that was lying in the population,,there is where ICU came in in the picture..There could also have been another movement ,not necceseralyICU,but no way to find such alternative

Now since Ethiopia couldn't achieve thing by military power, they want somalia to return pre-ICU era

thats dificult task since:

They themself are in the battlefield, they have no choice but to continue the war, otherwise its defeat ,and they wil be followed

the warlords can hardly achieve such power again, because the clan structure and support among people are permanantly changed..

The geo-political is putting most pressure on Ethiopia, they are too nervous to only concentrate on somalia..great advantege for us

Somalia has nothing to loose more while the enemy has everything to loose.

Adan5,

The ICU vision was a great one but the fact of the matter is their hastiness, impatience which was probably fueled by their oppritunists is what ultimately defeated them not 'external powers'. Infact the way they played into the unholy alliance of US Warmongers, Eithiopia etc. hands made some Somalis suggest that the ICU were actually a vehicle and and a tool in and of itself to put the US/Eithiopia invasion of Somalia into overdrive. The manic expansion past Benadir culminating in the absolutely ill advised, retarded advance towards Baydhabo coupled with the bombastic, inflammatory statements can only make you scratch Your head and think that maybe the ICU were a American tool themselves and orchestrating Somalias furthur collapse at the US's behest. Either that or the leadership was plain retarded. Now things are actually worse. Everybody has went back to intense clan politics and the Somali society is more fragmented than before thanks to both of these Anti State establishment actors (ICU, TFG). Thousands of people have been killed, almost a million displaced and a terrorist target on our back. Things will never be the same unfortunately.
