At first I thought this war was gonna be short, but now I think it will take a long time.

This is a chance for nationalism to prosper over pseudo-clanist wadaads and warlords. We can finally drive back Habesha to the mountains of Gonder if Somalis unite under Somalinimo. Ethiopia doesnt see either entities as a threat but what makes PL/SL or others untouchable from UN forces being deployed to those regions?

All of Hawiye was fighting in April of 07 and they were still broken down.

Many Somalis feel the same way, we dont need to continue fighting for another 50 yrs. The balkanization of Somalia isnt near especially with the A/Y generation who believe in a united Somalia. I partially blame Hawiyes for the Xamar incident from the 90s but the warlords have taken advantage of the situation and they didnt see the need to unite and overthrow these warlords before the ICU intervention. I'm just saying instead of Hawiyes weeping about the occupation which they had little control over this is a time for unity and to combat the invaders whether it be physically or throught the appeal of the international community with all SOmalis united.

Besides UN/AU troops having a base in Northern Somalia I doubt the assualt Xamar is facing the North would face as its already peaceful.

Murax, , Ethiopia, has truly found a way to quash the domestic opposition and hide its eggregious human rights violations. By invading Somalia, it killed two birds with one stone. It was facing the charges of vote rigging and genocide of various ethnic groups, but the invasion of Somalia was its ticket to get out of the domestic problems it still faces. Zenawi wants to stay n power and to do that he has to apply the terrorist card .

When the country is at war, and the opposition mount their pressure, they could face arbitrary arrest for seditious activities.
