marka hore, "ideally" iyo "realistically" hala kala saaro when it comes to moving back fulltime....true say, some of the problems can be fixed fairly quickly but im sayin, who's willing to live there while all the necessary rebuilding is done? "I'll go back when everything is rebuilt and running smoothly" is nice, in theory, but who's gonna ACTUALLY rebuild and make sure everything runs smoothly? Somalia's problem (aside from it being Somalia) is more than just fighting and water resources...making the conditions there ideal would take awhile, which would require people going there who are dedicated to improving the infrastructure and investing in the economy...even if Xamar itself was rebuilt to the way it was before, it's still a far cry from the living conditions we grew up with in the west and we became used to...even before the civil war, people died of basic curable diseases due to a lack of proper medicine and healthcare...apart from that, the living conditions here in the West are filled with luxury, iskaba ilow the necessities..our parents wouldn't mind because they grew up in Somalia and that's where they went to school, got married, had kids, etc. so they know what to expect and they can remember a time in their life when thats what they considered normal...but for us who left Somalia at a young age and were raised in advanced industrial societies, its a complete 180 from what we know and consider normal...even Puntland and Sland which have relative peace and stability are below the quality of life that we enjoy here, and as human beings, whenever you become accustomed to something, anything below it in quality is uncomfortable and annoying
basically, it's like going from a 4 bedroom house to a 1 bedroom apartment with no air conditioning and no cable....it's "manageable" but who would want to?
