A fear of mine : Somalis will become Arabized like Sudan

These false lineages to Arabs were constructed to get people to convert to Islam. This idea that we're related to the prophets makes us feel as if we're authentic muslims. We Somalis need to be nationalists and not allow these Arab cultures to take over our language, dress and interactions. I am a nationalistic Somali muslim that will not allow Arab traditions to take over mine.

We're Muslims first and our devotion is to Islam and Nabi Muhammad Sallahu Alayhi Wasallam's sunnah before anything else.

And yes, Nabi was an Arab. But we are not Arabs, we have our own language and customs, like the Arabs do theirs.

I'll tell ya something that happened yesterday to me. I went to my MSA Meeting and a brother recited a few ayahs from Holy Qur'an. So our MSA President (is from Gaza) asks which Non-Arabs want to translate, right.

So, our resident xabasha from Eri raises his hand...and the Pres tells him, "no, man you're Arab"

xabasha is like "I'm not Arab LOOOL!"

I raise my hand....and I'm told "Faisal, Somalia is part of Arab Union even though you guys dont speak Arabi" with a smirk on his face

I then say "waryaaaaaa we're not Arab either" laughing....the first day I met all these MSA people they automatically start saying warya...if anything, I think Somalis, Somalize other people...lol

Everyone who is telling me to get a life should never have opened this thread. Yes, Somalia needs peace in the South and unity etc. Somalis have always been peaceful muslims but it seems that when the country collapsed, a minority of us have became extremists and concerned with all things jihaad. Arab supremacy is fuking with a minority of us' brain and the idea that we only be true muslims if we dress, talk and act like Arabs. Absolutely sickening.

Somalis are at least 2,000 years from being nearly as Arabized as the Arab Sudanese; those guys are focked up and have no culture whatsoever. They're boring people to be around, as well.

So long as 95% of Somali towns have Somali names, we are still skinnies by culture. Not to mention, the Islam that Somalis practice is so heavily infused with ancient Pagan rituals, that they barely can be called Sunni. I too, am alarmed at Arabism, it has no place in Somalia and we should withdraw from the Arab League once we get back on our skinny feet.

The Wahaabi Gangsters of Xasan Daalin Abees and Schit Shariif are trying to turn Somalis into Arabs. People who write the Somali language in latin were finding themselves intimidated. They wear these traditional arabian clothes when there is no functional reason to wear them. Trousers are western but they are efficient and functional for work purposes.
