Murder probe after street assault

Forensic searches are taking place
A Somali teenager died after being stabbed in a violent assault near a Merseyside Park, police said.
Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim, 17, died and another teenager was injured in the incident on Croxteth Drive, near Sefton Park, late on Monday night.

Mr Ibrahim died in hospital and the other youth suffered injuries to his hand and arm.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of murder and police are appealing to the Somali community for help.

Croxteth Drive, which is next to the park, has been cordoned of for forensic examinations.

Area Commander Superintendent Steve Ashley appealed to the large Somali community in Liverpool to help the murder inquiry.
