WHAT ARE WOMEN WITH BABIES ON THEIR BACK DOIN, BEING SOLDIERS???

MOGADISHU (Reuters) - Somalia's Islamist fighters seized control of the town of Jowhar on Wednesday after clashes with government troops that killed seven people including a child, residents and an Islamist spokesman said.

"Seven people, including a woman who was a government soldier and her small child that she was carrying on her back were killed early in the morning when Islamic Courts fighters seized the town," resident Abdi Ali Osman told Reuters by phone.

Jowhar, 90 km (55 miles) north of Mogadishu, served as a temporary base for the country's interim government in 2005.

The Horn of Africa country has had no effective government since warlords overthrew dictator Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991 and then turned on each other, plunging the country into chaos.

"The fighting between government forces in Jowhar and Islamists continued for at least 40 minutes and the troops escaped while the Islamists released all prisoners in the town's biggest jail," Osman added.

A spokesman for the Islamic Courts forces, Abdirahin Isse Addow said four government soldiers were killed in the fighting.

"Our troops entered Jowhar at six in the morning. Few government troops fought us and we defeated them, forcing them to run away. We released all prisoners in the jail," Addow told Reuters by phone from an undisclosed location. MMIS/Al-Shabab made a Mistake.

Now TFG are back in Jowhar and MMIS/Al-Shabab left the city.

They can't hold the town, not against Ethiopian tanks and air power.
UIC/Shabbab strategy is to seize control of towns, grab all the supplies and free all the prisoners, score a media victory, then pull out.

Guerilla warfare.

The UIC tried fighting a conventional war against Ethiopia, let's not forget. They bought real artillery and trained thousands of soldiers, brought together thousands of technicals and military trucks, and went out to meet the Ethiopian army.

And lost, at terrible cost. Noone knows how many people died in the fighting.

However, now Ethiopia is on their turf, and new military options are available. Now, it is up to ETHIOPIA to defend this vast swathe of territory, and it is the UIC's turn to go on the offensive. The UIC has chosen to not allow Ethiopia the chance to counterattack, so they can forever and constantly surprise their garrisons and embarrass them.

This is guerrilla warfare at its best, the aim is to make the ethiopian occupation as expensive and hard for the Tigray till they start regretting coming inside somalia in the First place.

Good Job by the wadaad's  :somalia: :somalia: :somalia: :somalia: :somalia: :somalia:
