Do your parents?

Postby *Nobleman* » Sat Apr 05, 2008 6:01 pm

Do your parents ever tell you stories about their life in Somalia? My mum was telling me some amazing stories, the good times, the hardship, the escape to Europe (was only 2 in 1987) etc. I just picture it all and listen to my parents for hours at a time. No qabil bullshit, just good old somalinimo.

The war actually did have some benefits, according to my mum it wiped out fitna and also shirk that many use to practice.

Alhamdulilah

Yezzir... my mom who never experienced the war could still write a book or make a movie about how she came here, had to adjust in America as a 20 year old in the mid 80s from a foreign land with only some close relatives.

My pops is different, had to go to boarding school in Italy...then came here...then had a vacation back home after his senior yr in high school, hasn't been back home since.
