Leila2007 wrote:I was following that Evolution thread and before replying to it it was gone. But what we need to understand about scientific theories is they are wriiten by humun beings. For any one to to do a research project you come up with a topic and read every single thing that has been written and start writting/ formulating a theory then you go out collect evidence and prove what you are saying.
Now any researcher will tell you any every single research is biased as we all have a reason why we are doing it in the first place. So before even starting you already have a conclution but need to prove it.
It is good to read up theories as it will stimulate your mind and make you want to read more but Education is all THEORY. And it is down to us take what we believe in and ignore what we doent think is true or islamic!
Feel free to add your 2 cent folks!

how do you reconcile it with Islam?

Leila2007 wrote:"A theory backed by testing and thorough calculations is better than a wishful guess."
Now who is talking about a wishful gues?
I do agree with testing and proving that the theory actually works and it has to be validated. When it comes to things like medicine you need to get it right otherwise you end up killing people and end up in jail.Things like engineering is the same thing. Your calculation of material, structure and everything that is needed to build a bridge for example need to be exact.
But when it come to other theories that you cant necessarily go out there and test then it is down to experts in that field to try and validate and see what you are saying is actually true. I.e if I was to do a PHD about the somali mind and behaviour then I will need an expert in this field to validate my theory for it to be accepted and published in the Journal of Human Behaviour for example!
This is how most reasearches are done and published. So personally for me to actually believe a theory i need to find out more about the researcher and why they did that reasearch to start with and that is why not every single theory / science is necessarily TRUE!

Leila2007 wrote:What are you some kinda of historian?
Offcourse scientist who belief in evolution will write and prove that it does exist and you will always have scientists that counter that arguement with PROVE!
I am no expert in evolution I am just writting generally about how theories are formulated and why we dont have to be fooled even though this reaserch seem real!
