OCALA, Fla. - Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison on tax charges Thursday, a victory for prosecutors who sought to make an example of the action star by aggressively pursuing the maximum penalty.

I heard he didn't file income tax returns for three years running, owed something like $3M. Did you hear what the fine was? I heard it was likely to be $5M. Uncle Sam doesn't like to see his pockets ignored. He can appeal, but it's not likely to do him any good.

Yes he can appeal the decision, but the bigger question is whether or not the judge would let him to stay out of jail during appeal process.
