How to improve ones Af Somali?? Help needed

Other than going to Somalia?

(id love to..being the big patriot that i am..okay nuff of boasting lol..but i dont see myself going there this year atleast) I must admit im extremely ashamed of my broken somali..i cant hold down any conversation for more than 5 mins without throwing in english words..i plan to work with somali children etc..so it will help with communicating with their parents.

Waxaan idinwaydiiyaa...Are there any internet resources to help someone improve and expand their vocab/grammar etc?

I think one sister mentioned how she became a pro at somali in about 9 months..cant remember who she was..foxy perhaps? i would like to know how you did it.

Please all share your tips now!

as long as u sort out ure X n H's in writing .. im sure ul be alright .. thats what i had a problem with .. and stil do to be honest ..

speaking well .. i grew up around a lot of older ppl .. so i jus picked it up from them ..
used to watch a lot of riwaadayo too

Its really easy, it just takes plenty of practice. I just began by reading bbc news stories with my parents, and they would correct me and the grammar on the page itself, so without knowing it, you end up not only able to read, learn new vocabulary...butyou also know what is wrong. the key is with you parents and your family.

Mar kasta isku day inaad qortid , ....Can you believe this i could't write somali either for three years ago and now look at me....it's not perfect but it's getting better almost everyday.

Maasha Allaah. At least you are not one of those that deny their language as if not knowing the language will make them look young or sophisticated...Some idiots assume that it will make them better than the those that speak the language :down:

I think the easiest way to learn is to practice more..So if I were you I would start right now to practice in this forum..Like Hyper..Have you noticed how Hyper is doing well now

Just do it and we will help you..Don't be ashamed to make mistakes...
