Violence in Somalia for next 100 years???

i don't feel optimistic about peace in somalia.
what about you??

the Djibouti "peace talk" is already DEAD because the "peace talk" should be between Ethiopia and Eritrea, not between TFG and ICU.

since the TFG is being helped by Ethiopia, if there is peace in Somalia, it is very very bad news for Eritrea.
This means, ICU will insult or ignore the result of the Djibouti "peace talks" very soon to make Eritrea happy. Otherwise, If the ICU reconciles with the TFG, then Eritrea will not give money or weapon to ICU anymore and Eritrea might even kill ICU members if ICU accepts TFG legitimacy.

So there will NEVER be a solution between the ICU and TFG. it is sad but the truth is there will never be peace. the killing will never stop in somalia for the next 100 years.

Alshabab already declared WAR on somalis inside TFG and Puntland and even in Baidoa and many other places.

for Alshabab all somalis who like freedom or secular values are "foreigners"

Somalia is occupied. For there to be a tangible peace, Somalia must be liberated. There can be no peace between freedom fighters and occupiers.

LiQaaye, its not even about clans, the entire Northeastern people hate and have always hated the Puntland administration and the SSDF rebels. They only survived because they had strong militias, who were mostly nomads paid with money they had never seen before. SSDF never enjoyed popular support, its just a warlord militia that's slightly more civilized than the ones in the south.

The man in the article who is proposing the Islamic militia is from Cadde Musse's own sub-clan, not mine. Its not about clan anymore, the people understood that a long time ago, they were never qabilist to begin with. Their is no qabil element besides nomadic skirmishes now and then. It is now and has always been Puntland Administration vs. Northeastern Somalis. When the Northeast was peaceful under Siad, SSDF brought the wrath of the Somali army, when the Northeastern people wanted an Islamic regime in 1992, the SSDF brought the wrath of the Ethiopian army. I think this is the last year of this long conflict. Change will happen.

LiQaaye, Abdullahi Yusuf is out of the Puntland picture. Cadde Musse is the new thief in the house and people hate him way more than Afbiijo. Cadde Musse has successfully united all of Northeastern Somalia against himself. He won't make it to the next election. The businessmen and the clerics in Puntland have only recently realized their power. They alone burned the counterfeit money and machines that crippled the Shilling and that's only their first action. This is the same way that the Islamic courts in Mogadishu was born -- civilians realizing their own potential.

Not only will Northeastern people survive, but they will thrive beyond current limits when Puntland crumbles. For the last 20 years, the people have built schools, universities, and large cities without the help of the local government. All that Puntland did was put a face on the people of Northeast Somalia, and that face is getting really old and ugly at this point. You understand the analogy and what it pertains to in the coming months.

At this point, Ethiopia cannot afford to attack Northeast Somalia physically. All they can do is fund Puntland warlords/politicians with whatever food and equipment they can give, and the Puntland warlords will just eat up the food, steal the equipment, and run away. The Islamic militia has been praised by many in the Puntland capital and should begin their first real assignment real soon. Puntland's army has not been paid in nearly a year and they have no desire to fight for a bleak and unpaid future for the Puntland authorities. So, the Islamic militia, when they kick into action, will have no opposition and the West will just have to sit still and learn to accept it.

And Puntland has never been known to actively go against the people's wishes since the people traditionally control it more closely than other autonomous regions, but lately they've been going too far, like selling Ogaden residents and screwing up the local economy. This has drawn criticism from elders and civilians alike, who have been arrested and harassed and kept quiet. This is the breaking point. The last days of the old Puntland.

people don't have to be a scientist to understand the reason why millions of somalis living in puntland, baidoa and other regions of somalia supported the TFG/Ethiopian invasion of ICU's stronghold in southern somalia.
