Just wondering...What is the point of locking a thread when it contains nasty language and it sits there for everyone to read? If it was offensive to some forumer why not delete the whole thread?

I think the idea is to stop things from getting out of hand. Obviously whoever locks them doesn't think they're nasty enough to delete just inflammatory and potentially nasty.
