I think if you are saying:

Allahayow adigaan ku wakkilanay etc etc it is ok..But if you say;

Nebi Maxamedow adigaan ku wakiilanay it is Shirk

surrender, dhikir is not shirk...it is remembrance of Allah SWT and glorifying him. Shirk is asking for anything besides Allah what he can grant you. Like asking dead people for forgiveness or strength.

How one goes about to do dhikir..Allahu Aclam. Kambuli makes a good point though.
