The fact of the matter is Eritrea is playing a political charade gaming and trying to use Somali groups to fight its own anti-Ethiopian war game at the EXPENSE of Somali lives particularly in the Mogadishu area.
Is it nowadays a new trend to criticize Eritrea for supposedly using Somali groups to fight while Ethiopia uses more then 50.000 Ethiopian troops to do the fighting themselves? At the end of the day: 1 million are displaced, more then 10.000 killed, more then 25.000 wounded and this all directly by Ethiopians!
As for Sheekh Shariif, this has nothing to do with been on a list or whatever. The very fact that some are on the list and others not, says something about the US policy of neutralizing those that are determined and consistent in their struggle, while misleading those who are not as political savy as the others. This tactic has been used in every struggle against revolutionary groups, in which the most promising ones were labelled as radicals while one dealt with the socalled 'moderates' in order to weaken the group.
Aweys, Turki, Abu Mansuur are consistent and determined. They do what they say and say what they do, no double dealing, no opportunism (read: 'flexibility').
The Ethiopian occupation must be destroyed, or they must leave voluntarily before any talks can proceed. Sheekh Shariif is an opportunist for dropping this clear line.
