Somali Justice Vs. Western Justice

Ever notice when there is a crime between two Somalis, their qabiils get involved and try to keep it out of the legal courts.

It is fine if the case is simple like a harmless fist fight or a case of fraud etc.

But when it involves sexual crimes like rape or molestation, there should be no compromise. Throw the book at them.

I heard of a case where this Somali guy (18+) molested a boy (under 16) and his qabiil tried to pressure the boy's family to drop it. Sadly, they both were from the same tribe.

When you say "Somali Justice" what exactly do you mean? Them taking matter in their own hands, and not basing it on The Islamic Laws?

Somali people are not ignorant, but they decide to see and hear only what they want.

When I refer to Somali justice I am talking about how Somalis try to resolve a crime inside the community and often ends up in cash being offered if one party doesn't press charges.

I think Somali justice is better than western justice. And if you can deal with a fist fight why not rape and sexual crimes?

If Qabil involvement is good enough to deal with fist fight then it can deal with anything.

Aint that how we always did things?

btw there is no such thing as somali justice. what they call justice is if a man from another tribe kills a member of your tribe and he goes away then they kill a man from his tribe for revenge. they kill a innocent man
