Somali Professionals Associations

Postby AbdiWahab252 » Mon Jun 02, 2008 2:34 pm

This is for all the students here. Are there any Somali professional associations that provide mentoring & networking services to Somali students in your area ? If not, would having one be helpful ?

No we don't have one.

I really do think it would be helpful, and show some of the young people that there are Somali Professionals, that they can look up to and get help from.

Guys,

Thanks for your responses.

I am a lot older than a majority of you and I remember when i first came to the States. I did not have any resources or connections to use when it came to job hunting. It was a struggle.

There are a lot of Somali professionals working in different fields who can provide insight and share their experiences on what and what not to do.

Kambuli,

I don't have any formal service at all. However, I do help any Somali student I can. It gives me great pleasure helping out a member of the younger generation who is striving to make it in the workforce
