Music whether modern or cultural is haraam..even if the lyrics are not dirty.
Shaping the eyebrows..even if they r bushy ..is haraam in fact u will go to jahannum for that.
Wearing hijaab alone is wrong..you HAVE to wear jilbab.preferably dark colours...and if u have a strong emaan ..wear a 'niqaab' too
If you dont have a fist length beard ..you're a bad Muslim...not having it is a dhambi which could send you to jahannum.
the colour red is haraam...so are bright clothes..even patterns..so i guess dhirac is haraam?
Nail varnish is haraam.
Makeup is haraam.
Having nonmuslim friends is haraam.
dancing is haraam...even the cultural dances like barambur and dhaanto etc.
Arabic is a superior language, its the language of Paradise..so its preferrred if you speak it in stead of your mothertongue..The hadeeth in question is actually fabricated (check out what the scholars said about it)...Many Muslims think its authentic.
Arabic names are Islamic names. So converts should change their names from Tony to Abdal Quddus.
Mixing with men is haraam even if you dont have any bad intentions.
Mixed weddings are a no no.
Getting to know someone by yourself for the purposes of marriage is haraam.
Universities are haraam because they are mixed environments..people should study at home.
Muslims should make hijrah to 'the land of Islam' i.e Saudiarabia..well there are approximately 25-100 million Chinese Muslims who are being persecuted..should they all move to Saudiarabia? is there even a 'land of Islam'?
Women should study only subjects that are in line with their nurturing caring roles..like midwifery, nursing, teaching.
They should pursue those fields instead of chemistry, engineering, law etc.
Men should wear their trousers above their ankles..or ideally dress in white arab clothes.
Photography is haraam. Pictures are haraam, drawing is haraam..what about children who love to draw one might ask? what about tv? aaah there is where the TV is haraam rule comes in.
TV is haraam...because of the images and also because of the music that accompanies the NEWS, TV Dramas Ads , Kids programmes etc
Football is haraam
Criticising Corrupt rulers and scholars is haraam. You should make 'dua' for them and be a meek subject

"They have taken their rabbis and their monks as lords apart from God, and the Messiah, Mary's son-and they were commanded to serve but One God; there is no God but He; Glory be to Him, above that they associate". (AI-Taubah 31).

It is narrated that Ibn Hatim, who was Christian before becoming Muslim, once heard the Prophet, peace be upon him, reading that verse in Sura Al-Taubah. Ibn Hatim exclaimed: "Messenger of Allah, but they (the Christians) have not worshipped their rabbis and monks"? The Pro- phet, peace be upon him, replied,
"Yes they have. They forbade them what is lawful and allowed them what is forbidden and the people followed them. This is how they worshipped them"

Say: 'Have you considered the provision God has sent down for you, and you have made some of it unlawful and some lawful?' Say: 'Has God given you leave, or do you forge against God?' "

[b]Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?" Say, "They are for those who believe during the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection." Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know.
Surah All 'Araf:32

Haa what do you think have you come across such Muslims?..going back to the youtube video..

this is a serious matter wallahi ..many converts as well unknowledgable vulnerable born Muslims are being chased away from Islam by people with such beliefs..let me give you an example..this convert sister was in the Mosque praying..minding her own buisness..another sister comes to her and tells her 'Sister your Salat is not acceptable because you are wearing nail varnish' How is that sister supposed to feel?

Another example this brother i knew..who is a chinese white convert told me 'Muslims always ask me why i havent changed my name that my parents gave me..even though it doesnt mean anything bad...why can't they ask me if i pray 5 times a day or not? Why can't they ask me if i pay zakah..surely thats more important..
I knew another brother too..who left Islam sadly when certain Muslims told him he would go to hell if he didnt keep his beard, or if he didnt wear a thawb above his ankles like the Prophet(p) did...no wonder Prophet Muhammed peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said 'beware of extremism for it will make you perish'

Walaalayaal..be careful how you convey the message of Islam...you dont want to present it as harsh, culture bound intolerant..a religion obsessed with rules as opposed to a religion that cares about your spiritual well-being..a religion that doesnt allow us to use our intellect or reason..How many times does Allah s.w.t talk about how we should use our analysing, reasoning faculties?? how many times does Allah talk about the believers? How does he describe them? refer to Surah Al Muminoon

BEWARE OF SPIRITUAL DEATH. DONT MAKE YOURSELVES VULNERABLE AND LEARN ISLAM FOR YOURSELVES FROM INTELLIGENT BALANCED SCHOLARS.

So next time you enter the toilet with the wrong foot..dont sweat about it.
next time you sleep on your belly dont sweat about it.
next time you engage in a friendly banter with a member of the opp sex..dont feel guilty about it.

dont lose sight of the things that REALLY matter.

those who believe and do good deeds

those who believe and do good deeds

those who believe and do good deeds.

Look at these munafiqiins looking for excuse to immitate kufars.
all those are valid Haram points.

if the new convert sister can't abandon nail vanish for Allah, she was not sincere convert to begin with.

people should stop practicing kafir version of Islam which is kufr and come to the fold of islam completely.

forgot to add

There is no such thing as Sunnah circumcision..the hadeeths are all weak, fabricated and some of the narrators are unreliable inconsistent people.

Heres the article dealing with it..the site of Shaykh Salman al Odah..a well known Saudi scholar http://www.islamtoday.com/showme2.cfm?c ... cat_id=822

this case serves as a reminder that its really very important to review and analyse the vast volumes of ahadees as this scholar did...ijtihaad never died and no one should close its doors..the ahadeeth must NOT contradict the Qur'an

suppose she was facing away from qibla and someone told her, sis, please repeat your salat, you have mistakenly faced the wrong way when offering prayer(granted this is conveyed to her in a respectful manner). do you then suppose that would send the convert sister fleeing from the religion as well?

you cannot offer prayer without wuduu and wuduu is not valid with nail polish on your nails.

sister, i share your distress with the way many "holier than thou" Muslims relay the message of Islam to others, but try not to slip into a rather questionable territory of reforming certain fundamentals rules and guidelines. like djibsomali said, Islam is about moderation. there's a way to reconcile our faith with our everyday life without compromising principal rules.

The fundamentals in our religion is clear..the halaal and haraam are clear..its to believe in Allah s.w.t follow his Messenger(pbuh) use the Qur'an as guidance.

As for that sister No i wouldnt tell her to repeat her salaah how do i know if its accepted or not? but i will tell her next time to pray towards whatever direction is the Qiblah.

the nail polish thing..is not fundamental..its irrelevant as far as im concerned ..does the diin talk about brothers who put water resistant gel in their hair?

Assalamu a'leykum,

If people bring us evidence from Qur'an and Sunnah, we should 'Hear and obey'. So If someone was to come to us and says something is haram and brings the evidence. then we should accept it. and we should be happy that the person told us to stop doing something which would anger Allah.

For example, the eyebrows issue.

The Prophet (salalahu aleyhi wasalam) said, 'Allah has cursed the Washimat and the Mustawshimat, the Namisat and the Mutanammisat, and the Mutafallijat for beauty, who change what Allah has created.' (Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, and At-Tirmidhi).

The Washimat are the tattooers, and the Mustawshimat are the people who are tattooed. The Namisat pluck the eyebrows to straighten them or to make them thinner, and the Mutanammisat are the people whose eyebrows are plucked. The Mutafallijat for beauty are the peoples who widen the gaps between their teeth for the sake of beautification.

Such a hadeeth is clear, so why would anyone want the curse from the messenger of Allah ?

So follow the evidence and you cant go wrong.

As for the individual in the video, its suprising to see people taking knowledge from unknown individuals. And to think the scholars of hadeeth used to conisder unreliable anyone who didnt have a beard, they wouldnt even take hadeeth from such a person. And yet people nowadays take knowledge from a man with no sign of sunnah.

The nail polish issue should be looked at with caution...There are people who put the nail polish after they do their wuduu..So people should not assume because someone has nail polish on, then his salat is not accepted :!:

I personaly don't like to live my house without wudu...Sometimes I like to put on matching nail polish! Nothing wrong with it..Ask anybody!

Fisabillah im totally aware of that hadeeth..but if you refer to islamonline.net (which im sure you'll discredit since you are a member of an extreme sect) ..they say its DEFORMING Allah's creation thats forbidden..so if a sister shaped it so that her eyebrows looked nice and neat theres NO PROBLEM with that.

I dont shape my eyebrows..i dont need to..but my friends do..and i dont tell them they will go to Hell for that because that isnt true. They are some of the best Muslims one could come across..devout sisters MashaAllah...why should i tell them they are any less of a Muslim because they choose to shape their eyebrows..frankly this whole discussion about eyebrows is ludicrous.

Islam is above such things..eyebrows, beards, jilbabs, niqaabs, prayer beads, the music issue, etc..should not dominate Islamic discourse..they are not fundamentals of the religion.

As for saying we should write off any Muslim man who doesnt have a beard..inaanillah do you know Most Muslims have beards because of culture? In Pakistan, In Arabia in Somalia..they have beards because of culture..in fact many bad dirty men have big beards..it is NOT sign that one is a saint!

Imam Haytham Al Tamimi who comes on Islam Channel gets asked about this beard all the time..the shaykh is overwhelmed...he replied to one brother 'Donot make the beard a sixth pillar of Islam'
