You should be happy with whatever Allah (swt) blesses you with. It doesn't matter whether it is a boy or a girl - as long as the child is healthy. You're talking like the Arabs in the Jahiliya period when the males use to become distressed at the birth of a girl & buried her alive. Islam came to dispel this horrible way of thinking walaal. So please don't say things like that.

That's not hardcore at all. I think that's really sad actually. There's nothing wrong with supporting your wife during labor - and shedding a few tears at the birth of your first child. It doesn't make you less of a man. I think I'd respect a man who cries in the following occasions:- during Salah/ remembrance of Allah, at the birth of his child, at a funeral/graveyard, and witnessing the suffering of a mother & child.
