Obama is Jew lover

Postby Cilmiile » Sat Jun 07, 2008 8:10 am

Arab leaders have reacted with anger and disbelief to an intensely pro-Israeli speech delivered by Barack Obama, the US Democratic presumptive presidential nominee

Obama told the influential annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Council (AIPAC): "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel and it must remain undivided."

His comments appalled Palestinians who see occupied East Jerusalem as part of a future Palestinian state.

Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator, told Al Jazeera on Thursday: "This is the worst thing to happen to us since 1967 ... he has given ammunition to extremists across the region".

"What really disppoints me is that someone like Barack Obama, who runs a campaign on the theme of change - when it comes to Aipac and what's needed to be said differently about the Palestinian state, he fails."

"I say to Obama ... please stop being more Israeli than the Israelis themselves, leave the Israelis and Palestinians alone to make decisions required for peace."

Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, rejected the statement, saying: "We will not accept an independent Palestinian state without having Jerusalem as the capital.

"I believe that case is clear."

He said: "Jerusalem is part of the six points that are subjects on the negotiations' agenda.

"And the whole world knows that East Jerusalem, Arab Jerusalem and Holy Jerusalem were occupied in 1967."

'Hope slashed'

Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for Hamas, the largest Palestinian resistance group, also condemned the speech, saying on Thursday: "These statements slash any hope of any change in the American foreign policy.

"[They] assure that there is a total agreement between the two parties, the Democratic and the Republican, on support for the Israeli occupation at the expense of the rights of Arabs and Palestinian interests."

The ancient city of Jerusalem is divided into East and West. Israel captured East Jerusalem in the 1967 war and unilaterally annexed it, in a move condemned by the United Nations as illegal.

Jerusalem's status as part of Israel is not internationally recognised and remains a central issue in peace negotiations.

'Unbreakable bond'

Obama, hours after securing his party's nomination on Wednesday, had gone on to say the US bond with Israel was "unbreakable today, unbreakable tomorrow, unbreakable for ever" and drew a standing ovation.

He told the gathering of one of US politics' most influential lobbying groups that, as president, he would "never compromise when it comes to Israel's security."

He also said any deal between Israelis and Palestinians should preserve Israel's identity as a Jewish state and that Hamas should be isolated and pledged to approve $30bn in aid to Israel over the next 10 years.

'Impressive speech'

Ehud Olmert, Israel's prime minister, called the Illinois senator's speech "very impressive".

"His words on Jerusalem were very moving," Olmert told reporters after meeting George Bush, the US president, at the White House.

The Illinois senator's comments come a day after US media projected that Obama had enough delegates to win the Democratic nomination and face John McCain, the presumptive Republican candidate, in the November election.

Iranian 'threat'

Obama also had harsh words for Iran, vowing to work to "eliminate" the threat it posed to security in the Middle East and around the globe.

"There's no greater threat to Israel or to the peace and stability of the region than Iran," he told the Aipac assembly.

Calling for "aggressive, principled diplomacy" with Tehran, he also warned he would never take the military option off the table in guaranteeing US and Israeli security.

Iranians responded cautiously, but optimisticly, with officials expressing hope he can bring about change in Iran-US relations.

Hamidreza Hajibabaee, member of Iranian parliament, said: "We hope that Obama turns his words into actions, helps the Islamic Republic of Iran believe that the US has given up enmity and paves the way for fair negotiations."

Waryaa Cilmiile--- baal ii waraan inaa ayeyo !

Macaanto Obama is smart here, i am sure he was trying to please the jews---isn't that what ALL MR. Nice & Miss Nice people do? To strive to please everyone and be 'liked' by everyone????Obama is so likeable because he made it his business to be likeable. In all honesty i will confidently say the inauthentic Hillary is more unfake than Obama. At least Hillary doesn't want to be liked, she works hard, competes with men, annoys men and ultimately is vehemently hated by men. I will be the devils advocate and defend him. He was trying to be 'liked' by the jew, to gain their trust if you will. (i am afraid he over did it.) WHY are the arabs crying like little burkha-ed bi3ches>??? I mean, why r they putting Obama in a separate category than the rest of the US elected presumptive presidents?? Are the arabs that naive? YES. I mean...seriously, it is ingrained in the american constitution, that every administration in the white house is bound by law & duty to defend and protect israel. Obama is performing his job duties. Did the arabs let the middle name 'Hussein' get into their Assalam aleikum heart??? Aaaww hoowww sweeet. :x

Ironically, this arab outrage-ultimately helps obama---it shows the jews, that at least Obama is not playing tricks. It blantantly shows he has chosen a side. A side he ought to choose if he wants to succeede or survive politically, this arab sissy noise will convince the jew this big eared adoon is on their side.Obama has passed the Shalom test. Obama is going to the White house. The Verdict or the fundamental questions are: Is Obama shrewed enough to have a plan? Will he really be neutral to the palestine and jew causes once he achieved his ultimate goal of the oval office??? We cannot expect him to hand jerusalem to the palestine, that would be a fantastical never happening sceniro, but at least will he be fair to the Palestines?Would He expose the systematic brutality of the jews on palestine.... to the world? Will he invite his Kenyan Luo Ayeeyo to the WHITE HOUSE? Will she ask for Ugali(a grotesque Kenyan main food) to be particularly added on the white house menu? Will the cute kids of Obama be immediately hospitalized upon tasting the kenyan ugali food??Will he live up to his silly unrealistc goal of spreading idealism into the world?? Will the real slim shady Obama, please stand up???? :|

Cilmillie,

Good to see your post. :)

I agree with Basra. Obama is saying what he has to say. Keep in mind that not all members of AIPAC are Jewish and that this is a long and idealogically held alliance.

In the same way, Obama has to leave the military options on the table. The thing about McCain is, you can be certain of his militarism. Obama is at least open to negotiations.

A vote for McCain is not going to help the Palestinians. At the very least, Obama knows where East Africa is.

Cilmiile equates Republicans here in America in power to TFG staying in power in Mogadiscu
Let me tell you this people , americans in their overwhelming majority have ZERO knowledge about foreign policy. Some even think Obama is a muslim in some parts of the country, waa in taas aad ogaatan.
Obama at the end of the day is a realist. He's gotta ,at this point of the game, put a little distance between him and the Hamas guys who've endorsed him, which seems to be one of Mc Cain strongest talking points

Do you people understand the pressure Obama is facing especially everyday when the media says "Obama and the Jewish", etc etc etc. Remember Jewish vote in America equals you are seen as tough in terrorism. So by the media continously saying Obama doesn't have the actual Jewish vote (for goodnessae they are only 5 million here in the U.S), it is not he literally doesn't have the Jewish voters but that he is seen as weak in terrorism and national defense which is a viewpoint that cannot be allowed to continue to go on.

Like Basra said the man is too eager right now because of the pressures and he slipped up. HOWEVER he has already taken back what he says and now goes back to what every American leadership has done since the formation of Israel which is to recognize Tel Aviv as the capital and tell the Israelis and Palistinians to negotiate on Jerusalem AND NOW THE JEWS ARE REACTING ANGRILY BECAUSE THEY REALIZE HE WAS NOT SERIOUS BUT JUST TRYING TO PULL A FAST ONE ON THEM

Obama clarifies united J'lem comment
By HILARY LEILA KRIEGER, JERUSALEM POST CORRESPONDENT
WASHINGTON

...But a campaign adviser clarified Thursday that Obama believes "Jerusalem is a final status issue, which means it has to be negotiated between the two parties" as part of "an agreement that they both can live with."

Many on the right of the political spectrum among America's Jews welcomed Obama's remarks at AIPAC, but the clarification of his position left several cold.

..."The Orthodox Union is extremely disappointed in this revision of Senator Obama's important statement about Jerusalem," said Nathan Diament, director of public policy for the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations. He had sent out a release Wednesday applauding Obama's Jerusalem remarks in front of AIPAC.

.."If Senator Obama intended his remarks at AIPAC to be understood in this way, he said nothing that would reasonably lead to such a different interpretation."

Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America and another Jewish activist who had originally lauded Obama's statement, now called the candidate's words "troubling."

"It means he used the term inappropriately, possibly to mislead strong supporters of Israel that he supports something he doesn't really believe," Klein charged.

But congressman Robert Wexler, a Democrat from Florida with ties to the Jewish community and a long-time supporter of Obama, rejected the idea that the Illinois senator had been misleading with his comments.

"Everyone knows that Jerusalem is a final status issue. That is not a secret to anyone. Senator Obama says emphatically that should the Israelis and the Palestinians negotiate [an agreement], he will respect their conclusions and that he will not dictate a particular resolution."

And some groups were pleased by the clarification on Jerusalem provided by the campaign.

"There was reaction from some of our base who were taken aback by it and thought he was undermining the peace process," said Americans for Peace Now spokesman Ori Nir, who described his organization as "gratified" by the clarified position which seems to follow APN's policy that sovereignty of Jerusalem could be shared in a final peace settlement.

Obama has faced questions about his support for Israel from hawkish quarters of the Jewish community, and his campaign said the speech before AIPAC, following a town hall meeting at a Florida synagogue last month, were key elements in shoring up the Jewish vote, which generally goes to the Democrats.

So you see only people like CIlmiile who don't live in the U.S and cannot understand the system here will try to take anything said on the campaign trial at face value.

Although what Cilmiile is worried about if Jaale Obama becomes president is not Israel/Palistine, but the TFG and Obama not being a big favorite of the "al qaeda" scare tactic used around the world.
