On the list of top 10 places to retire:

New Zealand
In addition to its magnificent scenery and an array of activities for keeping busy and fit, New Zealand has a low cost of living, an English-speaking population, great infrastructure and one of the world's highest "healthy longevity" figures. Not to mention the fact that the country imposes no capital-gains tax.

The downsides: It's difficult to qualify for permanent residency here -- though you'll have no trouble spending up to six months a year in the country -- and the country's proximity to the U.S. could be an issue. It's a 12-hour flight from Los Angeles.

I would prefer Panama.

yeah, i saw that. NZ is an amazing country, an 18 hour flight means nothing. a day walking around south island's farewell spit is worth it.

Screw,

I have very little faith in retiring here. Can't wait for Somalia to settle down so i can move back.
