I don't think one should just recite the quran without understanding what one is reciting, memorizing is all good but make the effort to understand what you are reading. If you don't understand arabic, get english translation.

completed the Quran @ 14

I continually read it and can't live without it.

Alhamdulilah for the glour Quran. it makes me happy and opens up my mind.

markaan waxba fahmi waayo (my studies) I read few chapters from the Quran and I am good as gold.

tip on memorising the Quran:

learn its meaning
use the same copy (to harnes visual memory)
learn from macalim
listen to the Quran (mp3)
Make Dua (ask allah to make it easy for you)

Have a copy of it everywhere (living room, bedroom, work, etc)

I thought the Quran to others few years back

"Naxariis iyo nabad gelyo eebe korkiisa ha ahaato nabigeenii suubanaa"

wuu ina gaarsiiyay fariintii eebe.

the first 4 jiiz i can read with out reading out of the kuran lets just say i can pray with that

and further more i know some other surahs

surah yusuf
surah iebrahiem
surah luqmaan
surah waqaica
surah nahl
surah cimraaji
surah muhammad
surah mulk
surah yasin
surah maida not till the end
and surah taube completed

intaas uu suradood na korka waan ka haya

inta kalle kitaabka baan ka akhriyaa

still learing the tasfiir tho

Only 3 Juz, haven't learned any Surah the last 4 years. :oops: Inshallah I will should spend more time trying to memorize the Quran.
