I dont think shedding some light to the truth is getting smart dear. Besides, my county is a big county and the area I was driving at is dominantly WHITE.
I will not take my passport to court because its not a driving requirement to have it with out at all times and by having my DL, I didnt violate any rules.

Police officers and all law enforcement agencies have more room to maneuvre now a days..
thanks to Patriot act/homeland (my arse) security and the bs anti terrorism laws.

I went through it during the 04 republican convention in NY as I lived there and I was so arrogant but they turned me into miskin within 24 hrs when they said someone with the same name was a fugitive and a terror suspect..I behaved well then they said after few hrs..sorry we made a mistake..so 1 esp . if muslim should be careful and behave accroding to he law at any given point.

With that said..the same thing happened to me once recently in Mass. and I told the officer..

"Hey officer I didnt know you needed a passport to travel inside the country" using their own sense of humour..and with a smile
Fortunately he let me go with a warning.

But take him to court, come p with an excuse for the 1st appointment..like a Dr note etc..and attend the 2nd time..
the officer might not show up the 2nd time and good luck.
