Do you believe in the number system? i.e. When you're describing someone of the opposite sex to a friend and you're like s/he "is an 8". If so, shouldn't there be a set standard of some sort? I mean I've seen some people that I'd say are a "6", describe themselves as being 8's. That's just wrong imho. You're a 6, know your number!

What about when you get approached by someone who's of a lower number than you, do you get offended? i.e. If you're a 8 and a 4 approaches you, would you be like "What in the world makes you think YOU can pull ME?!?". I know, we're not all shallow, but you know what I mean. Some people are just "bold".

What's the difference between cute, beautiful (/handsome), gorgeous, sexy(/hott), pretty etc.? I guess beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder

Cute, beautiful, sexy to me is used to describe females. A man who is cute, beautiful etc is a bit on the feminine side

yes i agree there needs to be a standard measure for the number system.

something like the beer guide.
i.e how many beers you will need to be able to do an ugly chick..
beer guide is pretty standard..
now we need another method like that to standardize the number..

I just mean, what's the difference between these words? Is there a hierarchy of some sort? Is "gorgeous" the extreme of "beautiful?

About lower numbers approaching you; lower numbers are always the nicer, more down-to-earth, guys. The higher the number, the more arrogant and boastful they become.

I am a 9 because I consider myself humble and calling yourself a 10 is a bit vulgar. People do have inflated sense of their number tho, especially girls.. but I usually don't mind if a girl who I consider a 4 thinks she is 8 or 9, then surely I am of the richter scale

I like my man to be a 6 to 7 because I sometimes go for not classically good looking males but very manly and sexy

From a 9 to a 6.5? Thats impossible! You cant be anything below a 7, regardless of how much youve let yourself go. Just like a 4 can never be anything higher than a 7, regardless of how much time they spend in the gym perfecting their body. A nice looking face goes a long way.

No, I dont think thats always true for girls. Many pretty girls dont know how beautiful they are and are usually somewhat insecure, whilst most ugly girls think theyre the sh1t. Ive seen it one too many times.

I saw having this conversation with someone earlier and she pretty much gave me your answer. She said she was a 10 though, but knocked it down to a 9 when I told her her arrogance wasnt cute.
