Alright, Update the driver software and it would work for you. And make sure first you haven't muted the sound yourself by checking the Mute option by accident. It happens sometimes.

A- Click Start, Click Control Panel, and then double click System.
B- Click the Hardware tab, and then Device manager. You may be asked a password at this point, so type in your password if you are the computer Adminstrator/Owner. Then continue to C below.

C- Click sound, game and video controllers to expand.
D- Under Sound, Video and game Controllers, double click the entry for your sound card, and then click Driver tab.

E- Click Update Driver SoftWare

Follow the Update Wizard, it will tell you what to do next all the way.

First prob. I dont see any sound card when I expand the sound video..controls..all i see is the high def..thing

And even updating it won help..cause it says that its updated..

So I think the sound card in motherboard is somewhat screwed/deleted dont know how..by me.unless the high defintion stands for the sound card.

Thanks sxb..in anycase.

Any more help??

Okay, let us find out if you have a sound card and what type it is.

A- Start Button
B- Control Panel
C- System and Maintenance
D- Device Manager
E- Expand The Sound, Game and Video Controllers. You will see what type of SoundCard you have.

After you find the soundcard, then go back to the previous POST and update the driver software in order for your laptop/PC to sense the presence of a Soundcard, are you with me Mr.Ilbuun? Just update the driver software following the previous instructions.

PS: High definition of anything means better than the standard, so if you have a high definition soundcard, it must still list a name for the soundcard after the HD mention. High-Definition soundcard means it comes with better speech recognition and blah blah, just a terminology to say your card is better than the standard soundcards. Get to work mate before I charge you for the help

Shaah aan ka doonto meesha, I am yawning.

Cawar, One more thing to do, when you get to the device manager and expand on the sound, game and video controllers, double click each line on the expansion one at a time and then look where it says test/troubleshoot on the new window, do that for each and everything listed under sound/game controllers. You will see then which one is not working. It will tell you something like "This device is working properly" or "not properly".

Try rebooting as well, it might help. Shut down power and reboot. You can also do system check. Obviously, your laptop/PC is not sensing the presence of a soundcard. So try what I told you, click on everything in the expanded list under sound/game controllers. Try to trouble shoot each one, that way, you leave no chance to miss anything. Good luck saxib.

Cool bro, anything listed under that category must be clicked upon and troubleshooted, as you said, it was working before, so something went wrong with it, I am sure with deligence, you can recover it. You will learn something.

We are getting somewhere at least. Let me think .... hmmmm..... Let us try system restore option.

Here is how I can get there on my laptop which uses Windows Xp.

A- Start
B- Allprograms
C- Accessories
D- System Tools
E- System Restore

Then click on yesterday's date, that should set everything back to how it was prior to you spilling shaah on your PC/laptop.

Cawar, I did this a while back and it worked good

Go to your control panel - click on Administrative Tools - then Services - then go down your list until you find Windows Audio - and click on left side - Start this service.... then close everything up. It might be aq short term fix, but It seems your are missing some drivers and you need to reinstall them
