Djibouti is not technically a somali state.
No2/ the Afars have tried and failed to counter the Somali Issa dominance.
No3 /the overall pop is about a million or so {there's more people in Somaliland for example}
No4/ the country is 80 clicks or so from Nth to south and about 35 clicks wide .
No5 /Western geostrategical interest.

1. Less clans

2. Less resources and land (like no major riverways, no empty plantations, ect)

3. The white man has a military prescense there (America and France) for neo-colonial interests such as War on Terror and/or being a former colonial master.

Sahan,

Djibouti is 60% Somali. I consider it a Somali state, alongside countless others. The fact of the matter is, why is it peaceful and Somalia isn't?

There is this stereotype that Somali people can not get along, but they seem to be. Why it is? The answer is rather easy.

Somalia as a whole may not be peaceful, but there are regions in somalia(northwest, northeast) that are peaceful. Southern somalia has a lot of clans fighting for resources and control, that's where most of the somali problem is.

But I hope you're not looking to blame any group of people for somalia's problem.

Alluring , believe you me there are a lot of digruntled people in Djibouti , but again the size of it makes it easier for the governement to control everything.
There ain't just enough room but to behave . :lol:
