Outrageous Favors

Postby AbdiWahab252 » Wed Jul 23, 2008 10:42 am

Whats the most outrageous favor you been asked for lately ?

A friend of mine asked me to cosign on his car loan. I told him no and he was upset because we been friends since middle school.

But I never lend money (over $100) to friends. Money ruins relationships.

What would happen if:

Farax becomes unemployed and doesn't pay his car note, I become liable.

Farax and I are no longer friends, but he still owes the loan.

Friends since middle School huh? Whoa that's a long time in your case!

But anyway, why would you say no? Unless you know he can't keep a job or doesn't pay things in time, then that's understandable! Why can't you loan a friend in need money? It is true what they say, you're frugal!

Siren,

"Playing with my money is playing with my emotions."

"People act funny around money"

I have been burned before when it comes to lending money (usually small amounts). I also don't feel comfortable being a COSIGNER which makes me party to the debt and if he doesn't pay it, it ruins my credit.

Xidigow,

Adeer, Bakheyl waan ahay. II cay hadad rabto lakin beesa iga ma heeliis. Binadaam ma isku haleeni karto lakin lacagta ba isku haleeni karta.

You did the right thing, It personally happened to me when I co-signed a 14,000 car for my lil cousin, and it backfired spectacularly and the the bank got the car back and I lost a lot of credit points

Walaahi I am not lying, but the most disgusting thing I was asked was when this elderly white man I worked with told me to do his wife and he will watch the action. Walaahi, never felt more insulted :o :o

AbdiWahab if you're as well off as you say you are, you should spread some of the money around that God gave you. You never know, maybe you'll need a favour from that friend one day!

MJP there you go again with your out of the world stories!

I made that mistake as well when I was 20 yrs old, back in the ice age. I've agreed to buying a car with my cousin, who made only the first payment on the car with me then quit his job and moved out of the province. This fukker had the audacity to ask me to sell the car two yrs later so he can get his share. After giving him his share which was $375 the damn dude stole my VCR and took off.

MJpride,

You were better off giving your cousin $200 and saying I am sorry saxiib but here you go. Its harder to rehabilitate your credit than to lose $200. Once your credit gets messed up, it makes your life a hell and makes borrowing expensive due to higher interest rates.

Nasty supervisor :x

Siren,

I offered to buy the car in my name & for him to pay me & I would give the car to him as a donation (tax free since we both share the same last name - claim him to be fam). He looked at me and said, "Waxad rabta inad ii gumeeysito."

Sakhraan SAxan,

Have a drink

Some kid asked me to buy a bag weed for him. I said "Hell no, I got my reputation as a sheikh to look after". 8)

Gatspy,

Sorry about learning the lesson a hard way.

I have this dude who borrowed $60 in 1997 and has been dodging me since.

I am glad he didn't pay me because he got out of my life on the cheap
