There were few other countries with tank fleets above the 1,000 mark, but it wasn't worth reporting. Also, there are many rich Western countries with smaller tank fleets than their poorer counterparts, but their tanks are far more expensive, they get updated often, and they never use old tanks. A lot of the poorer nations have tanks going back to World War 2.
